FAQ

Do I need any previous experience to enrol?

No. This course has been specifically designed for complete beginners and no prior experience in cosmetic tattooing is required.

The training is comprehensive and covers both the theory and practical foundations needed to begin your journey as a PMU artist. You'll be guided step-by-step through the learning process with a combination of online theory, hands-on training, live model experience, and ongoing support.

If you have previously completed PMU training and are looking to refine your skills or learn a new technique, an upskilling course may be a more suitable option. Please feel free to reach out if you're unsure which training pathway is right for you.

What's included in the course?

Each course is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, combining online education, hands-on practical training, and ongoing support.

Upon enrolment, you'll receive access to your online theory modules through Thinkific, allowing you to build a strong foundation before attending your in-person training.

During your practical training days, you'll gain hands-on experience through guided exercises, mapping practice, latex work, live demonstrations, shadowing, and model training, all under close supervision and mentorship.

In addition to technical training, you'll also receive valuable industry insights, business knowledge, and guidance to help you navigate your journey within the PMU industry.

Students also receive ongoing support and mentorship following training, ensuring they feel confident and supported as they continue to develop their skills.

Specific inclusions may vary depending on the course selected. Please refer to the individual course page for a detailed breakdown of what's included.

Is a student kit included?

Yes. A professional student kit valued at over $1,000 is included with your training and has been carefully designed to help you confidently begin your PMU journey.

Your kit includes a professional PMU machine, pigments, needles, consumables, and the essential tools required to perform treatments following your training.

The kit has been curated to provide everything you need to practise your skills and begin working with clients, with enough supplies to complete approximately 20 treatments after certification.

Specific kit inclusions may vary depending on the course selected.

Will I receive a certificate upon completion?

Yes. Students who successfully complete the required training, practical assessments, and case study requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion from The Academy by Amy Minervini.

At The Academy, certification is based on competency, not attendance. My goal is to ensure every student feels confident, capable, and ready to begin their journey as a PMU artist before receiving certification.

Throughout your training, you'll receive ongoing feedback, guidance, and support to help you reach the required standard and feel confident in your skills.

Will I work on live models during training?

Yes. Live model experience is an important part of your training and is designed to help you build confidence in a real-world environment.

During the course, you'll complete a minimum of three live models under supervision, allowing you to put your knowledge and practical skills into action while receiving guidance, feedback, and support throughout the process.

Dedicated model training is included within your practical training days to ensure you gain valuable hands-on experience before completing the course.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Flexible payment options are available to help make your training investment more manageable.

Payment plans are currently available through Zip Money, and Total Lifestyle Credit (TLC).

For more information about available payment options, eligibility, or assistance choosing the best option for you, please contact us directly at amyminervini@outlook.com.

You can also learn more about Total Lifestyle Credit via this link: https://tlc.com.au/apply?partner_id=5090&type=medical

How do I secure my place in the course?

To secure your place, a non-refundable $1,000 deposit is required at the time of enrolment.

The remaining course balance must be paid in full no later than one week prior to your training date.

Payment plans are available through Zip Money and Total Lifestyle Credit (TLC). Students wishing to use a finance option are encouraged to arrange approval well in advance of their training date.

As places are limited, enrolments are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis once the deposit has been received.

How long do I have access to the online theory?

Students receive lifetime access to their online theory modules through Thinkific.

This allows you to revisit the training materials at any time, refresh your knowledge, and continue learning as you grow throughout your PMU journey.

As a PMU artist, learning doesn't stop when training ends, which is why you'll have ongoing access to your course content whenever you need it.

What support do I receive after training?

Students receive direct ongoing support and mentorship for three months following training with Amy via WhatsApp.

You'll also become part of The Academy Society, our private student community, where you can connect with fellow students, ask questions, share experiences, and continue learning alongside other artists.

My goal is to ensure you feel supported not only during your training, but throughout the early stages of your PMU journey as you continue to build confidence in your skills.

Which course is right for me?

If you're completely new to cosmetic tattooing, either the Lip Mastery Course or Brow Mastery Course is the perfect place to start. Both courses are designed specifically for beginners and provide the theory, practical training, support, and mentorship needed to begin your PMU journey with confidence.

If you're an existing PMU artist looking to refine your skills, improve your results, or learn a new technique, an Upskilling Course may be the most suitable option.

If you're unsure which training pathway is right for you, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'd be more than happy to discuss your goals and help you choose the course that's best suited to your experience and career aspirations.
